Saturday Spotlight Wk 6

Welcome to The Saturday Spotlight!

This week's page is 'Too Cute to Spook' by Heather (Algera).

This is just so sweet and I love that colour! It makes a change from the traditional orange and black Halloween colours. I also love the composition which sort of takes on the spider's web shape. Love it Heather!
Heather also designs her own kits and you can have a look at her creations at http://algeradesigns.blogspot.co.uk/

"This page was created by Heather known as Algera at Daisytrail.
It has two papers blended together to achieve the bright pink tones. I also wanted the viewers eye to be drawn to the cute photo and so worked on layering and applying shadow to some of the elements. Adding some curved text also added an extra touch of interest to the photo.
I have used one of my own kits 'Halloween Treat' to create it.
I have been digi crafting for several years now and just love the freedom of expression it gives me. Being able to combine an interest in photography, design, crafting and art keeps me really busy and wishing there were more hours in the day."

Thank you very much for sharing Heather x

Remember November!

OK so it's a bit of a silly title, but what I want to do is document November by taking a photo everyday.
I am so inspired by all of the journalling going on out there. Especially the ones that are documenting a whole year.
So next year I want to journal 2014 which is quite daunting and a big a commitment. So I thought I would give it a trial run by doing a month to begin with lol.
I am going to take a photo every day throughout November. Granted some of them are going to be pretty boring...!  Then the idea is to put them all in a book or page - not quite sure yet. With some journalling of course :)

It would be great if someone played along. Just let me know and I'll have a look on your blog xxx

WOYWW 230

Welcome to another WOYWW!
I'm feeling chilled this week as it's half term and I have the week off work. So I have plenty of time for desk hopping. Of course I should be catching up on housework and stuff...but I'd rather go snooping around other people's work spaces lol. Pop over to Julia at The Stamping Ground if you have no idea what I'm talking about :)

My desk actually has some real crafting stuff on it today. I make my own Christmas cards each year from the previous year's recycled cards. I'm just getting everything together to make a start. Not much to look at though! Will post the end results in a few weeks.

My first digital project is this page featuring a photo taken by Matt. We went down to our local beach the day before the storm hit the UK. The winds were already strong and the sea was looking dramatic.
I've used elements from kits by Amy Wolff and One Little Bird.

The next LO is of my wonderful King Charles Cavalier, Poppy. She's looking fed up which prompted my idea for the page, but I think she was just tired lol. Used bits from kits by Just Jaimee, Sahlin Studio and Aquarius Designs.

Thank you to everyone that visits my blog or leaves a comment. I appreciate them all so much.
Have a good WOYWW ! xxx

A Geocaching Day

We had a fab day out in the woods at Slindon on Saturday. The weather was ok up until about lunchtime when it absolutely poured with rain! We still managed to find 4 caches though so went home happy...soggy, but happy!

I took a few photos and put this page together to sum up why we bother to leave the sofa and head out into the countryside. i.e. the beautiful scenery, good company, exercise, laughs and a real connection with nature.
Sometimes it's hard to leave the house when it's cold and blustery out. But once we are actually out there, it's great!
Geocaching has added another dimension to our countryside walks. We now visit mostly new places so never get bored. And the gorgeous Poppy dog loves every minute!
If you have no idea what geocaching is or simply want to know more, go here http://www.geocaching.com/  :)

I used 'Summer Camp' by Kate Hadfield and Sahlin Studio and some elements by Amy Wolff.

Storm Brewing!

We braved the beach earlier today. With the wind really picking up, we wanted to see what the sea was like. You could really feel the storm building and we are now safely back at home waiting for the predicted storm to hit.I put this page together in the same style as I did the page for the same beach in the summer during a spell of dry, sunny weather.
I think the contrast is amazing and thought you might like to see. I'm entering the stormy page into a Daisy Trail challenge entitled 'Blowing'!
My son, Matt took the photo :)

I've blended the photo onto a BG from Twilight scraps and used elements from Amy Wolff. One Little Bird and Sahlin Studio.

Thank you for having a look and fingers crossed the approaching storm doesn't cause any serious damage x
